Contemporary albums (some describe these as digital albums) are printed on photographic paper and sealed to stiff card pages so the pages don't bend so easily as they would in a coffee-table book. The pages are also bound in a way so the pages can lie flat with images able to span both pages. Contemporary books share many of their features with coffee-table books, however there is a difference in quality of workmanship. Contemporary books have even higher quality photographic printing to the pages, the pages are thick and stiff and the books themselves are well made and well bound with strong, durable covers, (I use an aluminium cover though others are available). They are built to last, look fantastic and are not too large to never get out to show people.
I use Graphistudio albums because they make one of the best quality contemporary wedding albums in the world. As a wedding album they offer an excellent compromise between traditional and coffee-table and of the three styles of wedding album they are my personal favourite.
